The Plan & My Progress

The 2017/18 School Year Plan:

My progress so far...
  1. Replace my homemade whiteboard with commercial grade ones.  [see how I made my own whiteboards.]
  2. Update my physical education circuits.
  3. Add additional Chromebooks to the classroom complement.
  4. Create a revised guided group area with a document camera.
  5. Setup a classroom camera to automatically create a school year photo album and graduation slideshow.
  6. Develop a more differentiated program that relies on learning centres.
  7. Make "learning skills" more front and centre in daily learning.
  8. Implement more project based learning opportunities across subjects.

The "in-between years" (2012-2017) - did lots, but didn't record much on this blog

  • Create my own mini flip charts so each student can indicate how they are doing at their desk. [external link to more info]
  • A small set of iPads (~5) to reinforce math and language concepts in an immersive experience.
  • A professional interactive whiteboard system.
  • Add more portable computers (netbooks or laptops) to the school inventory to be shared between rooms and fill in technological gaps.
  • Add a few more desktop computers to my classroom so that half of the class can be on at a time.
  • AirParrot (an AirPlay app) installed on all netbooks and laptops so students can share their work on the Apple TV.
  • Set of classroom cameras to investigate visual art through photography.  (I can use my 5 iPads).
  • A high definition video capable digital camera to create our own investigative news reports.  (I can use my 5 iPads).
