Inspiring Bloggers and Educators

George Courus

I was first introduced to George through Twitter in education based chats using hashtags. While attending a Google Educator conference in Ottawa, George was the keynote speaker, I found his presentation exciting and inspiring. Maybe a year later he came to our school district to challenge and shake up the traditional thinking of our staff. He really shook things up, people started talking, questioning, connecting, and the culture started to evolve. I don't always agree with George, but I respect his experience and enthusiasm.

Suzie Boss

I recently stumbled across Suzie's work through a post on Edutopia called "3 Ways to Unlock the Wisdom of Colleagues". Her article focuses on the best practices of several American schools when it comes to learning from colleagues. Suzie is involved in several projects, one is a new book called "The Power of a Plant" by Stephen Ritz. As someone who has often used plants, agriculture, and food security as topics and learning tools, her work speaks to me.

Peggy Grafwallner

Peggy writes a lot about coaching and the professional development of teachers. This is something of particular interest to me lately given the learning I have been doing in the IICT course. The ability to get colleagues involved and gain their trust so they can take new risks so fundamentally important.
